Our schedule allows us to do a limited number of author consultations each year on a first-come, first-serve basis. You could be one of the authors who benefits from our valuable insights into publishing.
We will evaluate your manuscript and provide feedback on your story. You will receive a detailed statement covering: 1. marketing ideas for your story, 2. tips on how to find the publishers most likely to be interested in your story, 3. editorial suggestions including a. advice on refining your story to fit the intended market b. copyediting.
We examine story structure and concept, content, voice, writing style, and provide line-editing. There are specific writing requirements for children’s books. We will point them out as needed.
Whether or not you have sent your manuscript to the Library of Congress for registering your copyright, send your manuscript to us with confidence because your work is covered by copyright protection as soon as you write it. Put your name and date on any working papers related to your book.
Guidance:
1. We only review books intended for children under the age of eight.
2. Manuscripts must be less than 1,000 words.
3. To give you the best service, e-mail us to arrange a ‘consultation appointment’. This allows us to schedule your review and give you a prompt response. Do not send a manuscript without an appointment since we may not be able to evaluate it at that time.
4. Once we have agreed to a consultation appointment, we will send you instructions for making your payment and submitting your manuscript. Upon receipt of your payment, your manuscript will be reviewed. We accept the following file formats: .doc, .rtf, and .pdf.
5. Cost for this service = $200. We accept debit and credit cards and Paypal account payments. All payments are made through PayPal. You do not have to have a PayPal account to pay by credit card. You will receive an e-mail from Pilinut Press confirming payment.
6. Pilinut Press will send you an e-mail upon receipt of your manuscript. Within two weeks from receipt of your manuscript, we will provide you with a thorough report of our evaluation.
